Description

  1. Remains of the Ponçay Priory
The Jesuit priory of Ponçay, on the road from Marigny-Marmande to Port-de-Piles, was part of the Noyers deanery. The parish was united with that of Marigny in 1820. The former 12th-century parish church is in ruins. The prior's dwelling, a rectangular structure dating from the late Middle Ages, has lost its hors-oeuvre staircase. Its molded-frame windows (including one with a mullion) have been partly walled in.
