Description
- Panoramic view of the Aubance vineyards
Two appellations d'origine contrôlée are produced locally: Anjou Villages Brissac and Coteaux de l'Aubance. The former is a blend of two grape varieties, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a deep ruby color. On the nose, aromas of red or black fruit are sometimes accompanied by licorice. It has a fine structure and a velvety, fine mouthfeel. The second is a sweet white wine made from botrytized grapes of the single Chenin variety. It has a yellow color with green highlights, evolving to amber as it ages. amber reflections. On the nose, floral and fruity notes (exotic fruit) when young, and honey or candied fruit when mature. The Anjou vineyards are characterized by a soil and subsoil composed of schist, tuffeau, limestone and slate. - Vineyard huts
These small huts were once used as shelters by winegrowers and as stables for their horses. The vast majority of these buildings have fireplaces. They are solidly built with mortar and tufa stone walls, and are generally crowned with a slate or tile roof.
