Description
1. Arboretum de la Martinière - Veigné
Park of 4 hectares labeled «Jardin Remarquable» offering the discovery of an impressive collection of bamboos, conifers, traditional, original and exotic trees and shrubs. Guided visits on request.
2. Eolienne Bollée d'Esvres
The wind farm was built in 1898 and used to supply water to Château de la Villaine. It was restored in 2005. Volunteers from the ASPE association provide guided tours.
3. Le pont Girault
The Girault Bridge is a Gallo-Roman bridge from the 13th century that linked the cities of St Branchs and Esvres. Composed of 3 beautiful arches, this monument was used by Joan of Arc, on her way to Chinon (in 1429) as well as by the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
4. Le lavoir de la Fontaine
It attracted the washerwomen of the surrounding hamlets.
5. Le château de Taffonneau
15th century manor house, restored and redesigned in the 19th century. This noble residence has one floor and two stair towers which form a fief, under the control of the Castle of Montbazon and which belonged in 1410 to Jean Berruyer (private property).
