Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt is home to a 3000-hectare forest, 2000 hectares of which are managed by the ONF. The forest is made up of 5 main species: maritime pine, Scots pine, oak and beech. The forest is home to an abundance of wildlife, including wild boar, deer and roe deer, as well as daytime and nocturnal birds.

Description

  1. Church
    Built in 1877, it dates back to the 12th century, but was remodelled around 1450, as can be seen from the ribbed vault with prismatic mouldings. The current sacristy is the choir of the former medieval church. Its two semicircular windows have been preserved.

  2. La Pommardière
    Natural area where the Lac-Mort stream rises.

  3. Beugny Castle
    Known as ‘Begnarius’ in the 12th century, it is built of tufa stone and brick. 
    It comprises a 16th-century building with two wings and six 19th-century pavilions, as well as additions that have altered its original elegance.
    Both sides of the building bear the Puységur family coat of arms.
