Description

  1. The village of Panzoult 
    The church dedicated to St. Vincent, with its 11th-century façade, 12th-century bell tower, 13th-century choir, and 16th-century nave. The curious sundial on the south façade of the 17th-century pavilion adjoining the village hall (decipher it if you can).
  2. The recreation area 
    Fishing, games, tennis, "boules" (game played with metal balls), but above all, the starting point of the trails.
  3. Castel, 15th-century (private property)
    Clinging to the hillside, it is the former residence of the lord of Panzoult. The communal cave, dug into the tuffeau stone, is arranged to host events. Picnic area
  4. Airliva and La Pointevinière
    Magnificent viewpoint over the village of Panzoult, the Vienne Valley, and the Richelais.
  5. The Ruau Valley 
    On the banks of one of its tributaries, the Chèvre little stream, there is a wooded picnic area.
  6. The pond and the Bois-Girault Mill (private property) 
    On the hillside, the Sibylle cave immortalized by Rabelais, where the witch Panurge consults about his marriage.
  7. La Chauvinière - Picnic Area 
    This hamlet, which had 123 inhabitants in 1878, including several weavers, now has only a handful of residents. See the washhouse and its fountain. Possible return to the village of Panzoult (family walk).
