Description
- Le logis de la Pinsonnière
Privately-owned property. Listed as a Historical Monument, the house dates from the 18th century. It was named after Jean Charles Pinson, commander of the Beaulieu national militia and its previous owner. - The Pierre-Couverte dolmen
Also known as the Montbenault dolmen (a nearby locality), the Pierre-Couverte dolmen is a polygonal dolmen of the Angevin type. It comprises 5 stones, a sixth of which has been destroyed. The chamber measures 2.45 x 1.35 meters. - Château de la Mulonnière
Privately owned. - The Moulin des Cinq
As you enter the village, you'll come to Rue du Moulin des Cinq. A number of names and vestiges recall the milling industry's presence in the commune: Moulins des Cinq, du Roi, des Ortinières, Bédier, Beleau, Brûlé... Most of Beaulieu's windmills are moulins caviers. The moulin cavier is a typical windmill in Anjou. It consists of a mobile body
known as the hucherolle, which supports the wings and contains only the gear mechanism. The hucherolle rests on a conical masonry structure built over a cellar housing the milling equipment, hence the name
cavier mill.
