Description

1. The so-calls Balzac waterrmills, mentionned in his novel Le Lys dans la Vallée
Leaving Pont-de-Ruan, from the bridge on the right: the watermills «Potard» mentioned since 1285 and operated until 1979. The long weir from 1852. On the left at the end of the bridge, the «Lambert» watermills which produced flour, electricity and ice packs until 1972.

2. Le Manoir de l'Alouette
Located in the «Bol de lait» street, the Alouette Manor is the subject of the Balzac stories...On the right, rural house of the «bol de lait», where Balzac stopped in 1830 and described in the novel « Le Médecin de campagne ».

3. If you want to walk in Artannes... 
If you want to walk around Artannes :The « Manoir de la Mothe », a 15th century dependency of the « Château des Archevêques ». The Castle of Artannes, was the property of the Archbishops of the city of Tours until the Revolution. The « Fontaine aux Mères » (fountain of the mothers) is dedicated to the Gallic mothers, it would be miraculous for women breastfeeding their babies. The Grand Moulin which stopped its activity in 1989 was the property of the Archbishops.

4. Le Moulin des Fleuriaux
The Fleuriaux Mill is a square tower with pink plaster from the 18th century, with stone bridge, valves and wheel. On the other side of the river, you can see the Moulin du Breuil.
